“Nak, ke sini,” panggilnya.
Anak itu mendekat. Pak Udin mengulurkan uang Rp 10.000.
“Nak Bapak minta tolong, ya belikan dua potong roti, satu untuk upah kamu,” katanya.
Si anak pergi namun lama baru kembali sambil mengunyah roti. Ia mengembalikan kembalian sebesar Rp 5.000. Lalu pergi.
“Mana rotinya?” tanya Udin dengan tergesa-gesa.
“Pak, roti yang ini tinggal satu-satunya di warung. Roti ini saya makan sebagai upah saya. Dan ini kembaliannya,” kata anak itu sambil mengunyah roti. –drs
